Visa applications

International delegates please note: You will need a visa to enter Australia.

Under Australia’s universal visa system, all visitors to Australia must have a valid visa to travel to and enter Australia (other than New Zealand passport holders who will normally be granted a Special Category visa on arrival, provided they meet health and character requirements; and permanent residents of Norfolk Island who may be granted a Permanent Resident of Norfolk Island visa on arrival).  For more information, see the fact sheet.

For information on how and where to apply for a visitor’s visa to Australia, please click here to go to the Department of Immigration and Border Protection Website.

You will need to register for the conference and pay your fees before you apply for a visa.  A confirmation of registration, or a letter of invitation, will be required for your visa application. You are urged to apply for a visa at least two months prior to your intended date of departure, and four months prior for people with character or health concerns.

There are many visa options available to people wishing to visit Australia. The appropriate visa option will depend, amongst other things, on your purpose for visiting Australia.

Please refer to the attached Business Events Information Sheet for guidance on the visa options that may be most suitable for you.

You should also refer to the Visa Application Requirements Information Sheet for information on visa application requirements.

NB: These are the visa options available presently but the Department of Immigration and Border Protection reserves the right to change regulations. Visa applicants must demonstrate that they meet all the legislative requirements for an Australian visa.
